Aric P. Shafran

I am a Professor in the Economics Area of the Orfaela College of Business at Cal Poly. Here at Cal Poly, I teach Urban Economics, Principles of Economics, and several courses for the MS Quantitative Economics and MBA programs.

My research is in the areas of environmental economics, experimental economics, and decision making under risk and uncertainty. Recent work includes theory and experiments on games with strategic completementarities, experiments on all-pay contests, and theory and experiments on the economics of natural hazards and disasters, including wildfire and hurricane risk management.
